Ft. Worth Open Silver League Championship with Win thanks to Hay
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen are one game away from a sweep after a 6-3 win over the visiting Las Vegas Flamingos at The Cattle Pen today. Cattlemen center fielder Kolby Hay was named player of the game, as he was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Ft. Worth now holds a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.
Fagatogo, American Samoa-born Semo Hoaloha came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded and the Cattlemen trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Ft. Worth on top.
"It was a good win," Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson told BNN reporters after the game. "I told them I was proud of them. These guys are professional ballplayers, they know how to get motivated without my help."
