Martin Handcuffs Shredders, Bowties Seize - Advantage in R1
The Buckhead Bowties moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Hollywood Shredders on the road at The Hollywood Bowl by a score of 2-1. Bowties right-hander Matt Martin was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Bowties a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.
The Shredders had trouble solving Martin, who surrendered no earned runs on 1 hit over 8.1 innings.
"We don't have much margin for error now," Shredders manager Bill Cheese said. "We need to figure out the problem and fix it, immediately."
