The Philadelphia 1776 BC moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Oakland Oaks on the road at Oakland Coliseum by a score of 7-6. BC left fielder Eugene Clutch was named player of the game after he was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The win gives the BC a - advantage in the best-of- Round 1.

Clutch turned the game around in the top of the eighth. That's when the Philadelphia 1776 left fielder dialed up a 3-run home run. Just like that, Philadelphia 1776's 6-4 deficit turned into a 7-6 lead.

"We got the victory," said Clutch. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
