Castillo, D.C. Open Third League Championship with Win

The D.C. Divided are one game away from a sweep after a 6-5 win over the visiting Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC at Washington Stadium today. Divided catcher Mario Castillo was named player of the game, as he went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. D.C. now holds a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when second baseman Kimi Okubo, who is tied for 9th in the 3L in runs scored with 13, hit a single. The Divided went on to win.
"It was a good win," D.C. manager Jonathan Gerth told BNN reporters after the game. "I told them I was proud of them. These guys are professional ballplayers, they know how to get motivated without my help."
