Knights Hammered by Dotson, Fall Further Behind in R1
|
Portland Evergreens third baseman Billy Dotson was the difference-maker at Cloverdale Legion Park today, winning player of the game honors as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game of the Round 1. The Evergreens took the 5-2 win over the Kingston Township Knights to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.
Dotson delivered in the top of the sixth inning for Portland. With the game tied and the bases empty, the third baseman hit a solo home run to center.
"I'm not sweating it," Kingston Township manager Rayzor Ray told reporters after the loss. "We'll recover. They say it's all about winning games, but I would put up with a heck of a lot of losses as long as we hoist that trophy at the end of the year."
