Cattlemen Get Close Win Over Dirty Reds
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen picked up a win at Lang Park, knocking off the San Mateo Dirty Reds, 6-3. Starting pitcher Gustavo Tobías was an essential part of his team's success. Ft. Worth reliever Anthony Ledesma was credited with the win, to go to 2-1. José Barquero took the loss for San Mateo. Jack Buyse earned his 18th save in 21 tries.
The outcome might have been different for Ft. Worth, had it not been for Blake Browning, the 24-year old right fielder . Browning stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Ft. Worth up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"We did a lot of things right," said Browning.
Ft. Worth is now 30-23. San Mateo is 30-23.
