Love Boats Beat Screaming Eagles in 10
|
The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats had to overcome a big game from Mercer Island second baseman John Jankila to leave Heron Field with a 7-6 victory. Jankila went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Lake Minnetonka reliever Matt Koller picked up the win, upping his record to 1-5. Lonnie Zavala was saddled with the loss. Lake Minnetonka is now 45-51. Mercer Island is 65-31.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the tenth, with Lake Minnetonka trailing 6-5, Tso-lin Shuo hit a fastball from Lonnie Zavala for a 2-run home run, giving the Love Boats the walk-off win.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Shuo said.
