Big Day for Gonzáles as Love Boats Down Ogres, 8-6
|
With third baseman Laquvionte Gonzáles leading the charge, the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats defeated the Olympia Ogres, 8-6, at The Ogre Den. Gonzáles went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. The win was Rainer Ausmus's in relief. His record improves to 4-0. José Valdéz took the loss for Olympia. Lake Minnetonka has now won 4 straight.
Gonzáles had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-0 fastball from José Valdéz, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Love Boats a 8-6 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Gonzáles.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Gonzáles.
