Springfield Shooters starter Luis Sastre was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Virginia Palladium Sox, 4-2. Tom Peña, credited with the save, is now 2 for 7 in save opportunities. Springfield's record now stands at 35-52, placing them 8th in the Premier AA.
Vicente Gomillion, the 31st overall pick in the 2039 draft, aided the Springfield cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder drew 1 walk, while adding 2 RBI.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Sastre told a Springfield Bulletin reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
