Virginia Palladium Sox starter Sergio Gallegos was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Springfield Shooters, 4-3. Gallegos went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 10-4. Virginia is now 49-37, Springfield 34-52.
Virginia used the timely hitting of Seung-hwan Pak to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Palladium Sox on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Sergio's tempo and rhythm were good," said Palladium Sox manager Ezequiel Chosson. "He was the key to us winning."
