San Bernardino got a terrific performance from pitcher John Combs, but it wasn't enough to beat the Olympia Ogres. Olympia won the Field of the Grasshoppers contest, 4-3. Combs was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Olympia reliever Francisco Aragón picked up the win to move to 1-2. Júlio Antunez suffered the loss. José Valdéz picked up the save, his 8th.

The result might have been different for Olympia, had it not been for Dan Turner. The designated hitter produced a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ogres ahead, 4-3. For the game, Turner had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Turner.

Olympia, at 25-59, sits in last place in the Premier AA.
