The Minnesota Loons picked up a win at Thunder Hawks Ballpark, knocking off the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 2-1. Starting pitcher Cristián Álvarez played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Álvarez, now 6-7. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Haweeyo Nasteexo was called on to finish, recording his 8th save.

Minnesota took the lead in the top of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Júlio Souza stroked a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Loons.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Souza.

The Loons improved to 39-39.
