Olympia center fielder Albert McBride had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. McBride belted 2 home runs, even as Minnesota beat the Ogres, 5-4. McBride was named the player of the game despite the loss. The winner was Ye-qing Tsai, who threw 94 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits. The 5th-place Loons have won 4 straight games.
The result might have been different for Minnesota, had it not been for Djakapura Makanamaikai. The third baseman produced a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Loons ahead, 4-1. For the game, Makanamaikai had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
