Shooters Saddle Thunder Hawks with 5-2 Loss

Springfield and Ft. Polk South duked it out at Springfield Stadium and the Shooters came out victorious.
The Springfield Shooters stymied the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 5-2, at Springfield Stadium. Lúcio Romero, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 1-1 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for Springfield. Luis Sastre earned the win to go to 6-2. He allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Gary Albert recorded his 1st save for Springfield.
Early in the game, Romero had a 2-run home run for Springfield. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Shooters on top, 2-0.
Romero told a Springfield Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
Springfield is 30-45 and Ft. Polk South, with the loss, 56-19.
