Grasshoppers Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Love Boats

In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The San Bernardino Grasshoppers knocked off the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, 8-6, at Heron Field. Emery Nelson was named player of the game for San Bernardino. He hit 1 single and 1 double, while driving in 3 runs. John Combs was the winner. Over 7 innings, he allowed 1 run on 8 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Juichi Kanno picked up the save, his 5th.
San Bernardino took a 6-1 lead on Nelson's 4th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which he hit off Matt Koller in the top of the sixth, propelled San Bernardino to the win.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Kelly Flint said.
The Love Boats, now 31-39, have lost 5 straight.
