Screaming Eagles Finish Off Shooters in 12
|
Fans who gathered at Springfield Stadium saw a good contest between the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and Springfield Shooters.
Mercer Island got an elite performance from starting pitcher Noah Walker in taking a 3-1 decision over the Springfield Shooters. Mercer Island reliever Ryan Fry picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. César González was saddled with the loss.
Emílio Ramírez took César González deep in the top of the 12th. His solo home run put the Screaming Eagles on top, 2-1. In all, Ramírez had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 6.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Screaming Eagles manager António Molina, "I like our chances."
The Screaming Eagles bumped their record to 46-23 with this latest triumph.
