Grasshoppers, Soriano Pin Bad Loss on Ogres

The exploits of center fielder José Soriano, who is tied for 5th in the PAA in bases on balls with 35, helped the San Bernardino Grasshoppers defeat the Olympia Ogres, 11-0. Soriano went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The Grasshoppers' win now puts them at 33-35.
Steve Torres, the San Bernardino pinch hitter, contributed a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to make the score 10-0, Grasshoppers. For the game, Torres was 1 for 1 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"I thought we played a nice game," Torres told the San Bernardino Gazette. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
