Biscuits Turn Back Maine, 4-3
|
Getting a good performance from right fielder Emílio Vivas, the Montgomery Biscuits defeated the Maine Sea Dogs, 4-3. Vivas was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Biscuits. Fernando Lujino earned the win for Montgomery. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 10 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 7-6. Ron Holland earned the save for Montgomery, his 5th of the year.
With Montgomery leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Vivas hit a fastball from Curt Ladner for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Biscuits ahead, 4-0.
After the game, Montgomery manager Félix Cruz applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
Montgomery has run its win streak to 10 in a row.
