Tight Tilt Goes to U-21, 3-2
|
The Athletic Club KC U-21 defeated the Bompton Baby Lakers, 3-2, in M3L Rookie action at Ballpark of Elkhorn City, with Athletic Club KC pitcher Gabel Ambrosius named player of the game. Juan Andrés Saelices converted his 15th save in 16 tries. Athletic Club KC occupies 11th place in the Menard's R at 32-47.
Yee Ci had a big run-scoring single for the U-21 in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Athletic Club KC leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a forkball from Zhao-hui Teng and stroked the single to right-center. It was his 18th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the U-21 ahead, 3-0.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Bompton manager Pat Carrasco.
