Coeur Lose to White Walkers, 6-3
|
Buffalo starter Juan Guillén had a strong outing against the St. Louis Coeur at The BFIB. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 6-3 win. Guillén went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 8-1. Woodward Haberdash recorded his 16th save for Buffalo.
Buffalo used the clutch hitting of Tom Smythe to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the White Walkers ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We had a good game plan," Guillén said, "and we were able to execute it."
Buffalo goes to 32-16. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.
