Dominant Performance by González in Sheridan Win
|
The rain at Sheridan Forest did not keep Sheridan and Maine from finishing their game.
The Sheridan Deer got a strong performance from pitcher Francisco González, who stymied the Maine offense en route to a 4-1 win at Sheridan Forest. The 10th-place Deer are now 32-45, the Sea Dogs 46-31.
González, a native of Barinas, Venezuela, was dealing all game. He kept Maine hitters off-balance, while giving the Deer 8 quality innings. González threw 114 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 11.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Sheridan skipper Terry Sylvester.
