Submarinos Top Harbor Whales to Even Record

The Amarillo Submarinos overcame a good performance by Greenport right fielder Ricardo Águila to knock off Greenport, 7-6, at Ballpark of Robbins. Águila hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Joel Baxter was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 21 save opportunities. The 5th-place Submarinos are now 38-38, the Harbor Whales 51-25.
Amarillo used the timely hitting of Max Sinclair to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Submarinos ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was an important one.
In postgame comments to the Amarillo Today, Sinclair said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
