San Mateo and Buckhead duked it out at 5 Paces Park and the Dirty Reds came out victorious.

San Mateo beat Buckhead at 5 Paces Park, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to second baseman Denis Higgins, who earned player of the game honors. Ignacio Ayala, credited with the win, is now 4-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4 innings. Barney Starr earned the save, his 6th.

Palaie Gaoteote, who finished 5th in the SL in extra base hits with 49 in 2037, helped out the San Mateo cause in the top of the third inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the first baseman went 1-3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.

"I was a little disappointed," said Buckhead manager Kerry Hofmeister. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

The Bowties, at 23-23, have lost 4 straight games.
