Baby Lakers Come Back Late to Clip Beavers
|
It was a good time at Field of the Browns, where fans came to watch the Northwest Territory Beavers and Bompton Baby Lakers get after it.
The Bompton Baby Lakers knocked off the Northwest Territory Beavers, 7-4, at Field of the Browns. Rick Pawlowicz, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Bompton won. The designated hitter was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Bompton reliever Pierre Vannier picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Cecil Drabek was collared with the loss. Harley Hawk earned the save, his 14th, for the Baby Lakers.
Bompton took a 6-4 lead on Pawlowicz's 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Cecil Drabek in the bottom of the eighth, propelled Bompton to the win.
Pawlowicz called the triumph "a good team win."
The 6th-place Baby Lakers improved to 29-28.
