The Cattlemen had to overcome a fine effort from Long Island pitcher Onson Sweemey to grab a narrow 3-2 win at The Lighthouse. Sweemey went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Long Island has now lost 5 in a row.

Ft. Worth used the timely hitting of José Corona to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cattlemen on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Corona said after the game.
