Beavers Outmuscle Amarillo, 10-8
|
Northwest Territory left fielder Steve Chittick played a vital role in his team's 10-8 triumph over Amarillo. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for Northwest Territory. Northwest Territory reliever Luis Arellano picked up the win to move to 2-2. Jim Harris suffered the loss. José Díaz earned the save for Northwest Territory, his 7th.
Northwest Territory used the timely hitting of Bill Knight to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Beavers on top, 7-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Beavers manager Tom Carlson. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
The 11th-place Beavers have won 4 consecutive games.
