|
Starting pitcher António León pitched well enough to help the Northwest Territory Beavers beat the Amarillo Submarinos by the score of 5-3. León, now 3-2, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. The save was credited to Luis Arellano, his 3rd.
Northwest Territory used the timely hitting of Steve Chittick to capture the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Beavers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Chittick said.
