Beavers Win at Montgomery, 2-1
|
The Northwest Territory Beavers got a stellar performance from pitcher Herman Griffin, who handcuffed the Montgomery offense en route to a 2-1 win at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. Griffin went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 11. His record improves to 3-6. José Díaz, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save.
Northwest Territory took a 2-1 lead on Chi-Chi Ercument's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run came off Montgomery pitcher Fernando Lujino in the top of the seventh.
"We found a way to get it done," Ercument said.
Northwest Territory, at 16-26, sits in 11th place in the Menard's R.
