The Capital Hill Interns got a stellar performance from pitcher Francis Riley, who handcuffed the Montgomery offense en route to a 3-2 win at Alouettes Ballpark. The winning pitcher was Riley, now 4-0. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Ricky Mina got credit for the save for Capital Hill. It was his 5th of the year.
The Interns grabbed the lead in the bottom of the second. With two out, Roberto Suárez hit a 2-run home run off Francisco Borges, putting Capital Hill in front, 2-1. For Suárez, it was his 2nd home run of the season.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Capital Hill manager Francisco Fernández said.
The winning streak has now reached 6 games for the Interns.
