The Hicksville Hounds got a magnificent performance from pitcher Carlos Medina, who muffled the Ballard offense en route to a tight 3-0 Hounds win at Field of the Sunchasers. Medina, the winner, moves to 3-7. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 3 walks. The first-place Hounds raised their record to 54-37.

The result might have been different for Hicksville, had it not been for Michael Cherry. The center fielder produced a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put the Hounds ahead, 2-0. For the game, Cherry had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
