Franklin right-hander Kevin Moran helped his team edge Amarillo by the score of 2-1. Moran kept the opposing lineup in check. The save was credited to Ricardo Méndez, his 2nd. Franklin is 8th in the Silver R with a record of 43-46.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and no one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when first baseman Millard Jones, who is tied for 9th in the SR in triples with 4, drew a walk. The Fire went on to win.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Moran.
