Submarinos Roll to 8-3 Win Over Tigers
|
The Amarillo Submarinos knocked off the Twinsburg Tigers, 8-3, at Dodge Field. Barend Huijbregts was named player of the game for Amarillo. He hit 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 5 runs. Amarillo reliever Nelson Qudrio picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Eddie de Vlaming was collared with the loss. The Tigers fall to 7-9 and continue their wobbly start to the 2039 season.
Huijbregts had a key at-bat for Amarillo early in the game. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and gave Amarillo an early 2-0 lead.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Amarillo manager Seth Rice.
