Lighthouse Win 5-3 Walk-Off
|
The Long Island Lighthouse picked up a win at The Lighthouse, knocking off the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 5-3. Starting pitcher Aldo Raine, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Long Island reliever Júlio Rodríguez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. René Fontaine absorbed the loss. Thunder Bay's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
Tadayoshi Watanabe was the walk-off hero for Long Island. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Lighthouse first baseman hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Watanabe said.
