The Long Island Ducks picked up a win at Ducks Park, knocking off the Quebec City Baby Blues, 2-1. On the mound for Long Island was right-hander Juan Carmona, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winning pitcher was Carmona, now 5-4. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 7. The save was credited to Kenny Pollock, his 25th.
Alexandre Prost, who is tied for 4th in the SR in extra base hits with 34, helped out the Long Island cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 4 with a double.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Carmona said.
The 'W' lifts Long Island's record to 50-36.
