|
Quebec City used a superb performance from starting pitcher Daryl Benstead to down the Long Island Ducks, 9-0. The winning pitcher was Benstead, now 7-5. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 9. I-tsing Weng finished the game for Quebec City and earned his 2nd save.
Quebec City used the clutch hitting of João Lourenço to capture the win. The catcher drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to give the Baby Blues the lead, 1-0. For the game, Lourenço had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We had a good game plan," Benstead said, "and we were able to execute it."
With the win, the Baby Blues have a record of 47-38.
