The Deer had to overcome a good performance from Northwest Territory pitcher Herman Griffin to claim a 6-2 win at Sheridan Forest. Griffin went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs. Sheridan, now 6-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Sheridan took a 3-2 lead on Ryan McCarty's 14th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which McCarty hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Northwest Territory pitcher Luis Arellano shaking his head.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Sheridan manager Scott Alexander. "Our pregame was pretty good."
