The Sheridan Deer did just enough to secure a 1-0 victory over the Montgomery Biscuits at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Francisco González, who captured player of the game honors. González went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0. Yuri Antonissen picked up the save for Sheridan, his 2nd of the year.
One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the sixth inning. Facing Montgomery hurler Steve Davis, Eloi Hanai drew a walk. The Deer went on to win.
"Credit where credit is due," said Hanai, "this was a team win."
With the win, Sheridan is 3-3.
