Harbor Whales Get Road Win, 6-1
|
The Greenport Harbor Whales went home winners at Beaver Town, thanks in large part to starter Todd Hanley. Hanley silenced the Northwest Territory Beavers, enabling Greenport to grab the 6-1 win. Hanley got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. Hanley allowed 1 earned run. With the loss, Northwest Territory is 1-3.
Greenport used the timely hitting of Ronald Lithgoe to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put the Harbor Whales on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Hanley told reporters after the game.
