Patriots Take 11-2 Pounding
|
The Philadelphia 1776 BC topped the Boston Patriots by the score of 11-2, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Karl Blanke. Blanke was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the BC. Masami Kogawa earned the win for Philadelphia 1776. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 1. With the win, he raised his record to 2-1. The BC, with just their 5th win so far in 2039, have yet to catch fire.
Philadelphia 1776 used the bat of Gerold Olthof to get the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the BC ahead, 6-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Matt Addison said.
