Victory Pushes Ducks Record to 42-30
|
The Long Island Ducks defeated the Hicksville Hounds, 7-4, in USSL Rookie action at Ducks Park, with Long Island pitcher Doug Ross named player of the game. In 8.1 innings, Ross surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 13 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. The Ducks improve their record to 42-30 with the win over Hicksville.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the seventh inning. Facing Hicksville hurler Devin Alvarado, Rick Kirkham hit a double. The Ducks went on to win.
"This is a very good team," said Kirkham. "We have the chance to do something special."
