Warheads Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Ducks
The Amarillo Warheads got a stellar performance from pitcher Enrico Gallegos, who handcuffed the Long Island offense en route to a 5-1 win at Ducks Park. Gallegos, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Amarillo is now 42-26, while Long Island is 39-29.

Amarillo used the clutch hitting of Ron Lott to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Warheads the lead, 3-1. For the game, Lott had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Amarillo manager Javier Trujillo.
