Baby Blues Suffer 3-1 Loss to Ducks
|
Long Island starter Jim Sousa pitched effectively against the Quebec City Baby Blues at Dylan Park. The right-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. Sousa picked up the win for Long Island, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 5-2. Getting the save was Kenny Pollock, his 20th.
Fosco Cecon had a big run-scoring single for the Ducks in the top of the sixth inning. With Long Island leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Calvin Blackburn and stroked the single to right. It was his 77th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ducks ahead, 2-0.
"I like our moxie," said Ducks manager Martin Stewart.
Long Island now owns a record of 38-27.
