Fire Prevail, 3-2, Over Hicksville
|
Carlos Medina pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Hicksville Hounds, despite Medina's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Franklin Fire at Lawmen Ballpark. Franklin starter Kevin Moran was credited with the win after throwing 110 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 4-3. Ludwig Krassnig picked up the save, his 12th.
In the bottom of the second, Franklin third baseman Jung Chong had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, Chong stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 3-0, Franklin. For the game, he was 1 for 4.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Chong told the Franklin News.
The Fire now own a record of 30-34.
