Baby Blues Shut Out Fire
|
The Quebec City Baby Blues got a strong performance from pitcher John Stevens, who stymied the Franklin offense en route to a 3-0 win at Lawmen Ballpark. Stevens, now 6-5, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. The 4th-place Baby Blues have won 4 in a row.
Quebec City used the timely hitting of Victor Jensen to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Baby Blues on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We had a good game plan," Stevens said, "and we were able to execute it."
