The Franklin Fire did just enough to sneak past the Long Island Ducks, 2-1, at Ducks Park. Franklin pitcher Dave Miller earned player of the game honors. Miller picked up the win for Franklin, going 9 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-5. The Fire raised their record to 27-32.
The result might have been different for Franklin, had it not been for Jung Chong. The third baseman produced a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Fire ahead, 2-1. For the game, Chong had 1 double and 3 singles in 5 at-bats.
