Ducks Solve Fire, 4-3

The Franklin Fire and Long Island Ducks provided some drama at Ducks Park.
The Long Island Ducks topped the Franklin Fire, 4-3, in USSL Rookie action at Ducks Park. The player of the game was Long Island pitcher and Romita, Mexico native Raúl Villegas. Long Island, at 35-23, sits in third place in the Silver R.
Alexandre Prost had a big 2-run single for the Ducks in the bottom of the first inning. With Long Island trailing 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from Ricardo Méndez and stroked the single to left-center. It was his 54th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ducks ahead, 2-1.
"We played hard and won," said Villegas. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
