Baby Blues Bump Off Hotspur Academy, 5-3

Ballpark of Fresno was the site for USSL Rookie action featuring the Phoenix Hotspur Academy and Quebec City Baby Blues.
Esteban Sifuentes was instrumental in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Phoenix Hotspur Academy. The right fielder was 3-4 with 3 singles. He scored 2 runs for the Quebec City Baby Blues. Daryl Benstead was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Mark Taylor sewed up the save, his 12th.
Quebec City used the timely hitting of Óscar Cardozo to capture the win. The shortstop socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Baby Blues ahead, 5-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Cardozo after the game.
Quebec City currently is in 4th place in the Silver R at 29-26.
