The Charleston Battery bested the Buffalo White Walkers, 6-3, at Beyond the Wall. Datu Lesaca was named player of the game. He slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Charleston starter Melvin Tiburcio was credited with the win after throwing 97 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 4-1. Rafael Rivera earned the save for Charleston, his 8th of the year.
Charleston relied on the hitting of Joey Coco to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Battery on top, 2-0. For the game, Coco had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Lesaca told the Charleston Gazette.
Charleston now sits at 16-17, while Buffalo falls to 20-13.
