|
Ballard beat Ellesmere Island on the strength of starter Borisav Gojkovic's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 4-2 win. Ipe van Veldhuizen closed the game out for Ballard, earning his 2nd save. The Beavers are now 19-26, while the Snowpeople fall to 25-20.
Ballard used the timely hitting of Héctor Heredice to capture the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Beavers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Heredice.
