Ducks Hold Off Fire, 3-2
|
Long Island rode a decent outing from starter Juan Carmona to victory over the Franklin Fire at Ducks Park. The final score was 3-2. Kenny Pollock was credited with the save for Long Island, his 13th of the season. Long Island is 26-17 and Franklin, with the loss, 21-22.
Alexandre Prost drove in one run for Long Island. The 19-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ricardo Méndez. It was his 25th RBI of the season.
After the game, Long Island manager Martin Stewart applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
